New Toy

I finally picked up the new embroidery machine today, and can't wait to get started working on it. Firstly though, is reading the instruction manual.

There are 22 thread colours to start with, including silver, gold, and 4 neon colours which are making a comeback.

Available Cotton Prints

There is now a Flickr Site for Nearly Naked Neckwear Inc., where I will post available cotton prints that are in stock for making fabric overlay collars & leashes.

www.flickr.com/photos/nearlynakedneckwearinc

Most of these fabrics I have purchased in 1 yard increments, a few I have in more limited quantities (these are marked) as well there are a few I have more quantity of. New items will be added as I get them, and items that are sold out will be marked as such and eventually deleted. You can view items by category (set) although not all items have been added to the sets.

*PLEASE NOTE - fabrics have been scanned and the images have been shrunk to give an overall image of the pattern. The amount of pattern visible will depend on the width of the collar selected, with the wider the collar, the more print visible.

** If you wish to have a collar made from a particular fabric that you have, feel free to send me an e-mail to arrange mailing or dropping the fabric off for me to work with. Quantity of fabric required will depend on what you want made with it.

Embroidered Collars Coming Soon!

For the past year I have contemplated purchasing an embroidery machine so that I can further customize collars.

Today I paid a visit to Sewing World and looked over a few of the machines, and watched a demonstration on one that I was particularly interested in. The machine is now on layaway until I can scrape together enough to purchase it. Even on sale it is still quite expensive, but I believe it will be worth the investment in time. The lady who did the demonstration said that she would be happy to book some time to sit down and walk me through how to use it, which would be great because it is quite different than my current machine. There are many embroidery thread colours and I can't wait to get to playing with it.

Once I have some samples ready I will post some pictures.

Fabric Overlay Collars

Have you ever found a cotton print that you thought would look awesome as a collar on your dog? Well, now you can have it made!

Either choose from a few of the cotton prints I have in stock, or send me a piece of your desired cotton print to be turned into a collar, or leash, or both! The fabric is first turned into a trim (3/8", 1/2", 3/4", 1", or 1 1/4" wide) and then applied to the webbing base (satin wrap optional). Webbing widths are 3/4", 1", 1 1/2", or 2".

Pictured below is a 1 1/2" satin wrapped buckle collar with 1 1/4" fabric trim:
